The choice of charities reflects our need to recognise the many different ways in which gender discrimination manifests and the many different barriers that women face in our own homes and across the globe. Donations are welcome and will be divided between the charities named above. The Women's Support Project

The Women’s Support Project is a feminist voluntary organisation, recognised as a Scottish Charity. The Project works to raise awareness of the extent, causes and effect of male violence against women, and for improved services for those affected by violence. We address a broad range of issues and prioritise the following areas: support for women whose children have been sexually abused or exploited, child sexual abuse and incest, prostitution and other forms of commercial sexual exploitation.

To address a prevalent gender gap that contributes to complex inequalities in Scotland. To take a lead role in redressing the neglect of women’s historical and cultural contributions to Scottish society by providing a catalyst for change. To invest in women’s social and creative capital to the benefit of our nation. To enable women, particularly the most vulnerable and excluded in society, to access the information they need to make positive life choices. To break down barriers to learning and participation for women so that they become fully active citizens, develop skills and knowledge, engender self-confidence and equip themselves to pass on their experience to benefit their families and broader communities. To create new ideas of and approaches to culture and heritage that bring together women from the most diverse backgrounds.

    The Fawcett Society

Fawcett is the UK’s leading campaign for equality between women and men. Where there's an inequality gap between women and men they're working to close it.

    Apne Aap

Apne Aap: an umbrella organization for a network of small self-help groups and organizations that are explicitly against trafficking and can advocate for lasting legal change.

    Organize:
Apne Aap will continue to strengthen and promote the formation of anti-trafficking Self Help Groups of girls and women, especially among survivors of prostitution, DNTs, castes and communities prone to sex-trafficking and maintain a Network across India and South Asia of these and affiliated support groups.

     Train and support:

Apne Aap will build the capacity of these girls/women self-help groups to access their rights and entitlements to education (including to girls hostels run by the government, other NGOs or the private sector), land, livelihoods and to stand up against traffickers by training them in its ‘3 L’ anti-trafficking self-help model and supporting them with grants  to run Community Outreach Centres known as Antodaya Basti Vikas Kendras.

    Research and Advocate:

    Care

CARE is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. We place special focus on working alongside poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty. Women are at the heart of CARE's community-based efforts to improve basic education, prevent the spread of HIV, increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources. CARE also delivers emergency aid to survivors of war and natural disasters, and helps people rebuild their lives.
